Outline of Research at the Start

経口糖尿病薬として知られるSGLT2阻害剤は，グルコース取込阻害を介した飢餓誘導により，癌細胞の増殖をも抑制することが示唆されているが， SGLT2特異性が低くSGLT1阻害作用が大きい薬剤ほど，消化管癌への抗腫瘍効果が高い可能性が報告されている。
大腸癌でのSGLT1/2両分子の発現状況に着目し，臨床検体での免疫染色，in vitro実験，同所移植マウス腫瘍での治療実験，網羅的遺伝子解析等により，SGLT1/2各分子の腫瘍進展における役割と経口糖尿病薬SGLT阻害剤の抗腫瘍効果としての作用機序を腫瘍微小環境に着目して解析し，抗腫瘍薬へのdrug repositioningの可能性を探索する。
