Outline of Research at the Start

全身性エリテマトーデス (SLE) は、腎臓、血球、神経など多臓器に病変を起こす自 己免疫疾患で、患者の生命予後や生活の質を大きく損なう。HMGB1は、マクロファ ージなどの自然免疫系の活性化とともに、自己反応性のB細胞を誘導するなど、SLEの発症 のトリガーや疾患の増悪に関与している。HMGB1を治療標的とした新規治療開発として、IgGの Fc領域を欠損したHMGB1に対する人工抗体を作成し、SLE病態の改善を評価する。
