Outline of Research at the Start

感染症対策において薬剤耐性菌の存在は非常に厄介である。1960年代には従来の抗菌剤に対し多剤耐性を示すメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（MRSA）が注目を集めた。現在の臨床現場でも、依然として油断できない状況が続いている。そこで本研究の目的は、MRSAが産生するPBP2aによる耐性機構への理解を分子・原子レベルで深め、新規阻害剤を開発することとした。

本研究では、2つのカテゴリーの研究を行う。
A:MRSA由来PBP2a・阻害剤セフタロリン複合体のX線結晶構造解析、分子動力学計算
B:PBP2aの阻害剤の探索、ビアコアを用いた親和性評価による新規阻害剤の提案
