Outline of Research at the Start

集中治療を要する重症患者では血液中に原因物質が存在する病態は多く、感染症、自己免疫疾患、薬物中毒などがあり、原因物質に対する治療を行うが、既存の治療は原因物質に対する選択性が低いため、救命のためにはより選択性が高い標的化治療が必要である。本研究ではファージディスプレイ法を用いて、あらゆる物質を治療対象にできる全く新しい標的化治療を試みる。具体的には約10億種類のペプチドを提示したファージライブラリを用いて、原因物質に特異的に結合するペプチドを特定し、そのペプチドに治療効果を付加させる治療法や、ペプチドを吸着剤とする血液吸着療法など選択性が非常に高い標的化治療を実現できるか検証する。
