Outline of Research at the Start	腎代替療法の中で最も優れた治療法は腎移植であるが，移植腎の長期的な生存率・生着率は十分とは言えない。腎移植患者の生命予後を改善するために移植腎の線維化を早期から抑制することが重要であり，腎線維化の治療法を確立することは喫緊の課題である。しかし筋線維芽細胞の起源や発生機序は明らかになっておらず，腎臓の筋線維芽細胞特異的なバイオマーカーも同定されていない。本研究の目的は筋線維芽細胞の起源となる細胞集団を解明するとともに線維化進展に関与する機序を解明することであり，その研究結果は移植腎の線維化を早期から抑制する治療法の開発および長期的な移植腎の成績向上につながると考えられる。
