Outline of Research at the Start

良性発作性頭位眩暈症(BPPV)は最も頻度の高いめまい疾患であり，耳石の異常が原因で生じる。骨粗鬆症等のカルシウム代謝異常により誘発されることが知られているが，解剖学的な構造は骨と耳石では異なる。本研究では，ゼブラフィッシュを用いて耳石におけるカルシウム代謝の研究を可能とする動物モデルを確立する。さらに，短期間で大量に動物モデルを作成できる利点を生かして，耳石におけるカルシウム代謝異常を予防できる薬剤をスクリーニング，同定する。
