Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は認知症患者における嚥下障害の動態調査、認知症の病型毎の嚥下機能の病態評価、および神経筋電気刺激（NMES）を中心とする治療的介入を行って、嚥下障害を有する認知症患者のQOL向上と生命予後改善につなげることである。そのために、 1) 認知症患者における嚥下障害に関わる疾患動態を、当院の過去42年間の診療情報データベースから詳細調査する。 2) 嚥下内視鏡検査、嚥下造影検査、高解像度マノメトリー検査により嚥下機能を多角的、かつ客観的に評価する。 3) 認知症患者に対して、嚥下障害の病態に応じた嚥下リハビリテーション、特に神経筋電気刺激療法などを実施し、前向き研究としてその効果を評価する。
