KeywordsSwallowing reflex / TRPV4
Outline of Research at the Start

The mechanical threshold to trigger swallowing increases among older people with dysphagia. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of mechanical stimuli-induced swallowing may help to develop therapeutics for dysphagia. The present study will explore the critical roles of TRPV4 in mechanical stimuli-induced swallowing reflexes.
