Outline of Research at the Start

我が国の平均寿命は、84. 52歳( 2020年) となり、人生100歳時代を迎えようとしている。すなわち、平均寿命の延長とともに健康寿命の延長が重 要である。食事をする上で大切な歯の保存を代表する治療に、Vital Pulp Therapy (VPT: 歯髄保存療法)があり、歯髄組織の保存が重要なポイントになる。従来より存在する歯髄組織の保存療法は薬物を用いるもので、組織や細胞への障害も存在することはすでに証明されている。そこでサイドエフェクトの少ない低侵襲のレーザーに着目して、レーザー照射によるPhotobiomodulationを利用した新たなVPTの開発を行う研究を立案した。
