Outline of Research at the Start	口腔癌の90%を占めるのは扁平上皮癌であり、原発のみの5 年生存率は高い。しかし、リンパ節転移を伴う悪性度の高い症例では5年生存率は著明に低下する。これまで分子標的薬などの研究が盛んに行われていたが、癌の悪性度に関与する指標およびその分子基盤は不明である。申請者が最近経験した高悪性度の口腔扁平上皮癌の症例を解析したところ、遺伝子変異が認められず、転写因子p63を介したDNAメチル化のエピゲノム異常および扁平上皮の腺上皮への分化転換を伴ってリンパ節転移していた。本研究では、口腔癌におけるp63の発現制御とp63が癌の悪性度に与える影響の解明、ならびに病理診断への応用を目的とする。
