Outline of Research at the Start

口腔がんの5年生存率は約60％であり、口腔がん治療における新たな治療標的が求められている。がん組織は、がん細胞、間質細胞、およびそれらを取り囲む細胞外マトリックスから成る腫瘍微環境を構成している。がん関連繊維芽細胞（CAF）は腫瘍微小環境を構成する主要な細胞であり、腫瘍促進に働くことが多くのがん種で報告されている。本研究は、新規がん間質関連遺伝子であるAEBP1 (adipocyte enhancer binding protein 1, 別名ACLP) が口腔扁平上皮がん(OSCC)のCAFにおいて高発現していることに着目し、OSCCにおけるACLPの機能を解明する。
