Outline of Research at the Start

顎変形症とは先天的、後天的要因による顎顔面形態異常であり、顎機能および審美面を改善させるために、顎矯正手術が適応される。われわれは従来の骨切り方法を改変した新手法を開発し、従来の手術よりも合併症のリスクが低いことを明らかにした。一方で、患者のQOLに大きく関与する顎関節構造の変化および顎機能の評価に関する詳細な研究は未だ行われていない。本研究では、新手法による顎関節構造の変化および咀嚼運動や咬合力の変化などの顎機能の変化を評価、解析することで、新手法の有用性を解明することを目的とする。
