Outline of Research at the Start	歯根形成に関するメカニズムの理解は、歯冠形成に比べ明らかに立ち遅れている。これまでにティッシュエンジニアリングの方法で作られた歯は、ヒト口腔内で機能し得る歯根を形成できていない。実際に歯が萌出する時の、萌出を開始する信号と同様に歯根の発生は複雑であり、ほとんど解明されていない。歯根形成のメカニズムを解明することは、機能し得る歯の再生のために是が非でも必要である。本申請課題では、先天性疾患の表現型を足掛かりとした候補遺伝子関連解析と網羅的探索（ゲノムワイド関連解析）とにより、ヒト歯根長に関連する遺伝因子を解明することを目的とする。
