Outline of Research at the Start

うつ症状を有する者、特に高齢者では口腔衛生に対する意識が低くなり、歯科疾患の増加やそれに伴う口腔機能の低下などがみられる。そのため、うつ症状を有する者に対し口腔健康教育等の介入によって、口腔衛生・機能を維持することが重要であると考えられる。この場合、うつ症状の初期段階から口腔衛生へ介入することで、口腔状態の維持を図ることができると考えられ、その方策を検討する必要がある。現在ミャンマーでは、社会的経済的理由からメンタルヘルスの問題が深刻化している。そこで本研究は、ミャンマー在住の高齢者を対象とした口腔健康教育プログラムを開発し、その有効性をミャンマーで評価することを目的とする。
