Outline of Research at the Start

これまで大学や研究所レベルでなければ分からなかった、喀痰の性状評価をリアルタイムかつ正確に捉えることを可能とし、医療従事者の主観で判断していた、加温加湿や排痰ケア、薬剤使用などの開始基準や効果判定など、多岐にわたる根拠を示すための研究に繋げる。
これまでの研究は工業用の計測器で喀痰を取り出して測定されたり、測定のために痰の量が多く必要となることが課題であり、感染リスクが高いのに加え測定自体が困難であった。本研究では今後は集中治療室や病棟だけでなく、在宅医療で人工呼吸管理が行われることが増えることも考え、将来は手軽に測定できる喀痰評価デバイス開発に向けた研究にも繋げる。
