Outline of Research at the Start

超高齢社会である本邦において、高齢者の看取りケアは重要課題である。穏やかな看取りを実現するためには、高齢者の死を察知し適切な時期に看取りケアを行うことが不可欠である。高齢者の死の予測は困難とされる中、申請者は看護師が約1か月前に高齢者の死を察知できることを明らかにした。さらに、高齢者の死の約1か月前を予測する尺度を開発し、プロトタイプを作成した。しかしより高精度な尺度とするためには、実際に看護師が高齢者個々に尺度を実装する必要がある。したがって本研究の目的は、申請者が開発した尺度を介護老人福祉施設に入居する高齢者に使用し、尺度の実装可能性を検証することである。
