Outline of Research at the Start

病原微生物はバイオフィルム内で成長することにより、免疫システムや抗菌薬に対してより高い耐性を持つようになる。したがって、バイオフィルムは薬剤耐性の発展に寄与する要因の一つであり、バイオフィルムに対する効果的な治療法の開発が重要な課題となっている。
本研究では、非結核性抗酸菌のバイオフィルムの主要な構成成分であるセルロースに着目し、セルラーゼを用いたバイオフィルムを破壊する遺伝子細胞治療法を開発する。最適なセルラーゼ発現実験系を導入した治療用細胞を創出し、細胞の機能性をin vitroおよびin vivoで検証することにより、バイオフィルム感染症に対する治療応用を見据えた基盤開発を目指す。
