Outline of Research at the Start

細胞群や個体群のように生命階層が異なっていても、生物の集団には共通して開拓者や先駆者といった少数のパイオニアが存在している。パイオニアは集団を動かす契機となり集団を制御する、生命システムにおける普遍的で重要な要素である。誰がパイオニアになり、どのようにその行動や経験が集団に伝播するのだろうか?本研究では社会性昆虫シロアリを対象とした行動解析から、個と集団の相互作用を解明する。人間社会における集団の挙動とのアナロジーを抽出し、例えば、災害時パニック現象やデマ拡散や密集混雑事故といった社会現象を効果的に制御するしくみを社会システム工学的視点から提案できる可能性がある。
