Outline of Research at the Start

電子の軌道角運動量の流れ（軌道流）を積極的に利用する工学「オービトロニクス」と光子を利用する工学「フォトニクス」の境界に眠る革新的学術を開拓する。具体的には、光子（光渦）のもつ大きな軌道角運動量の金属への移送と巨大軌道流の創製を追究し、その軌道流が磁性体に与える巨大な作用を明らかにする。光子の発生する巨大軌道流を用いることで、従来のスピンに基づく技術を凌駕する高効率な光子誘起磁化スイッチングに挑戦する。これらの研究を通して、「フォトオービトロニクス」の学理ならびに次世代光・磁気メモリの基盤構築を目指す。
