Outline of Research at the Start

空間反転対称性の破れを伴う強誘電体は様々なデバイス材料となりうることから基礎科学に加えて応用の面でも重要な物質群である。強誘電秩序の揺らぎである素励起を光電場で共鳴駆動することで、高速・精密かつ高いエネルギー効率を併せ持つ自発分極の制御が期待できる。光との強い相互作用を持つマルチフェロイクスや変位型、秩序無秩序型強誘電体の素励起に着目し、テラヘルツ光の位相情報を積極的に活用した新しい物質の秩序制御に取り組む。最終的にはテラヘルツ光の電場符号を強誘体に転写することで、熱力学的に安定な強誘電分極の符号の光スイッチを実現する。
