Outline of Research at the Start

古史料に見える古代チベット土着宗教儀礼説話と、雲南西北端のナシ族が保存するトンバ教説話の研究者による共同研究であり、他のチベット・ビルマ語系諸民族の土着宗教説話を意識しながら、相互比較していくことが各々が保持する難語解釈について有効か、また双方の関係を見出すことに寄与しうるかを判定する。
研究代表者の石川巌は古代チベット土着宗教担当を兼ね、その説話の翻訳を用意する。研究分担者、黒澤直道はトンバ教説話の翻訳を担当する。それらの翻訳に対し、担当外のメンバーに類似性や相違点などについて指摘を受け、それらの類似や相違の傾向を利用し、難語解釈の解法及び説話や説話構成要素の由来に関する試論を構築する。
