Outline of Research at the Start

イノシシに近いとされるベンガルデルタのブタのゲノム解析と民族誌との統合から農耕的家畜といわれてきたブタを対象にした遊牧の形成過程を把握する。そしてブタ遊牧の起源地について再考し、現代社会における遊牧の意義について考察する。
具体的には、ブタ遊牧の行われている地域を現地調査により、その遊牧の形成過程を把握するために主にブタの遺伝資料を収集する。在来ブタの採毛や採血を行うゲノム解析と民族誌の統合という新たな方法をとることで、農耕的家畜といわれるブタにも遊牧が存在すること、ブタ遊牧の起源についての新たな仮説の提示のみならず、熱帯デルタでの持続可能な社会論を大きく変革する意義を持つものである。
