Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、日本において臓器移植手術件数が増加し、移植希望者の超過需要が縮小することの意義を経済学的な観点から実証し、制度設計を提案する。世界的に、臓器移植が必要な患者に比べ、臓器提供者（ドナー）が少ないが、特に日本は顕著に提供者が少ない。一方、医療技術面では、2018年以降すべての臓器の移植術・採取術が保険適用され、患者の自己負担は数十万円程度の低負担に抑えられている。結果的に、移植希望者の登録数が増加する一方、移植希望者の待機期間は長期化している。本研究では、日本の臓器移植手術において、移植希望者の超過需要が解消しない経済厚生上の課題を観測的に考察し、臓器提供制度設計を提案する。
