Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、都道府県単位で編制された旧陸軍歩兵連隊の編成のタイミングと衛戍地駐屯地をリストにすることによって、都道府県別年齢コホート別の戦死者数の代理変数を構築する。アジア太平洋戦争を経て特定都道府県の特定年齢コホートの男女比にばらつきが生じ、その影響を通じて高度成長期の発展メカニズムが考察できる。ただし、都道府県別年齢コホート別の戦死者数という統計は網羅的には存在しない。本研究で作成される変数をその代理変数とみなし、現存する都道府県別年齢コホート別の男女比の戦前から戦後直後への変化の操作変数とすることで、戦争による人的資本の毀損がその後の経済成長に及ぼした影響をより正確に考察できる。
