Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、質的調査における「失敗」とは何かを明らかにすることにある。一般に「失敗」は回避するべきとされるが、他方で社会調査に取り組む研究者の間では「失敗」は不可避かつ意義あるものとしても語られる。こうした逆説的な状況にありながら、社会調査の〈失敗〉は学術的に検討されてこなかった。本研究では、社会調査の成果を〈失敗〉という観点から読み直すとともに、アンケート・ワークショップ・インタビューを通して、質的調査における〈失敗〉の諸相を具体的に探る。これらを踏まえ、それぞれの〈失敗〉の背景や影響を整理・分析することで、社会調査の方法論として〈失敗〉を議論していくことを目指す。
