Outline of Research at the Start	地球表層環境システムは先カンブリア時代に確立された。この時期には光合成生物の活動に関連する重要な事件が記録されているが、プレートテクトニクスにより多くの地層が失われている。地球史の９割を占める先カンブリア時代の地層は、現在の地球表層には１割しか残っておらず、残存有機物も変質している。本研究では、先カンブリア時代の変質した有機物から色素化石を抽出・解析する手法を開発し、生命と地球の共進化を解明する。
