Outline of Research at the Start

Minimal Interventionの理念が普及して歯質削除量を抑えることに重きが置かれるようになったとは言え、象牙質う蝕の治療は、現在も、感染歯質の削除を基本とする外科的処置を前提としている。本研究では、リン酸化タンパクによる死細菌の石灰化現象を応用し、象牙質内に存在する細菌を死滅させた後、リン酸化タンパクを用いて石灰化させることで、象牙質の再石灰化へと繋げる新たなバイオミネラリゼーション技術の確立を試みる。すなわち、本研究は、感染象牙質を全く削除することなく石灰化させる象牙質う蝕の完全非切削治療の実現に向け、その基盤となる技術の確立を試みるものである。
