本研究代表者の岡田らが作製した，自食作用（autophagy）のアダプター分子として知られるp62/Sqstm1（p62）の全身p62-KOマウスをベースにadiponectinによるCre-loxPシステムを用いて，脂肪細胞にのみp62を発現する“脂肪細胞特異的p62遺伝子レスキューマウス”を用いて，脂肪細胞/脂肪組織の分化と老化におけるp62の役割とその機能を明らかにし，肥満を制御を目指す．
