本研究は、ウィーン出身の作家E.フリートの抒情詩作品を主な考察対象とし、それらの文芸技法を分析および体系化するなかで、近現代ドイツ文学における政治・社会批判的抒情詩の系譜の新たな側面を提示する。フリートの抒情詩においては、遊戯的な既存の意味体系の解体と再構成のプロセスが展開され、そしてそのなかに、暴力の正当性の解体と新たな倫理観の再構成のプロセスも織り込まれる。新左翼の思想と実践にたずさわるなかで、理性こそが暴力を作り出してゆく原動力となるという歴史的必然性を明らかに認識していたフリートにとっては、理性の暴力に対して想像力と感性の解放をもって遊戯的に対抗することが、抒情詩のモラルとなっていた。
