かつて「満洲国」には100万人以上のアヘン中毒者がおり,国家収入の多くがアヘン専売によって支えられていた.本研究はこの国家ぐるみのアヘン商売がどのように正当化されていたかを,当局のプロパガンダから明らかにする.とくに「禁煙小説」や「禁煙電影」といったエンターテイメントについては先行研究がなく,大きな成果が見込まれる.また同時に国民への宣伝工作にあたっていた「禁煙宣伝班」の活動についても明らかにする.
