子どもの読書意欲喚起が社会的課題とされる中、国語科の読むことの学習指導は、各学習者が自分の読みの形成に楽しさを感じる場であることが求められる。しかし、初読後から各学習者が自由に読みを追究し、読みの形成過程を安心して交流できるような指導は、十分には具体化されていない。協働に至るまでの個人の読みをいかに楽しく意味あるものにするか、ということは、重要な検討課題である。
本研究では、初読後の物語創作（アダプテーション）が上述の課題に対して有効であるという仮説について、学習者の反応分析を通じた検証を試みる。そして、新たな読むことの学習指導法開発に向けた示唆を得ることを目指す。
