Outline of Research at the Start	近年、短鎖脂肪酸の一種である酪酸が、疾患病態の予防や緩和に効果をもたらすことが報告されている。本研究では酪酸を産生する酪酸産生菌に注目し、酪酸産生菌が酪酸を産生するメカニズムのひとつにその他の腸内細菌との相互作用があるのではないかと考え、酪酸産生菌と複数の菌を組み合わせた際の酪酸産生量の変化について検討することとした。ヒトの腸内に存在するとされる様々な菌を酪酸産生菌と組み合わせることで、単独の菌ではみられなかった菌同士の代謝リレーが起こり、酪酸産生が促進するなどの相乗効果が得られることを期待している。
