Outline of Research at the Start

Recovering ammonia and phosphate nutrients from fish farm wastewater is a sustainable method for waste valorization. This work aims to further intensify a sustainable VMD system for concentrating phosphate nutrient and simultaneously, recovering high ammonia and purified water from fish farm wastewater. Operating parameters will be optimized for the resource recovery. The viability of the system will be assessed by membrane fouling propensity and the necessity of pretreatment. Overall, the research outcome is expected to enhance circular aquaculture economy and water security.
