Outline of Research at the Start

We aim to enhance the resistance to HE by changing the fracture mode from intergranular to a mixed fracture mode of intergranular and transgranular via GB segregation engineering. Suppression of intergranular HE can originate from (i) enhanced GB cohesive energy and/or (ii) reduced H concentration at the GB (mitigating localization of plasticity).
