本研究は，現地調査によって収集した一次データの解析から得られる情報により，インド，ラダック地域におけるランドスケープアプローチを実践するものである。氷河の水利用に基づき地域の景観を形作るコミュニティ主導の水資源利用の方法を調査した上で，近年の自然・社会環境の変化に対して新たに適応してきた水管理方法を把握し，将来に向けたより持続可能な発展を実現する地域計画を提言する。
