白亜紀末および更新世の巨大天体衝突イベントの比較研究を行うため、IODPコアやインドの複数セクションにおける天体衝突層の堆積学的・地球化学的分析を行い、特に細粒成分が衝突地点から遠方に向かってどのように変化するかを示し、天体衝突およびその生態系への影響を検討する。
