Outline of Research at the Start |
The aim of this project is to utlize RaPID technology to facilitate the discovery of novel photoswitchable ligands. 1) The first objective will be to synthesize a variety of photoswitchable amino acids. 2) These monomers would then need to be incorporated into tRNAs through the use of flexizymes developed by the Suga lab. 3) Finally, these non-standard photoswitchable amino acids will be used to make random libraries of cyclic peptides through FIT. The libraries will be screened against b-tubulin through in vitro selection to find photoswitchable binders.
