| Outline of Research at the Start |
家禽の吸血性のダニであるワクモは、鶏に貧血や産卵率の低下などを引き起こし、養鶏産業に深刻な被害をもたらしている。加えて、薬剤耐性ワクモの出現やワクモへの重度な曝露は鶏に免疫抑制を引き起こすことも報告されている。そこで本研究では、ワクモによる宿主免疫応答の調節や新規ワクモ防除法の確立を目指し、シスタチンやセルピンなどのプロテアーゼインヒビターに着目し、その性状解析とワクチン抗原への応用について検討する。本研究による成果は、新規ワクモ防除法の提案に加え、ワクモに曝露された鶏の健康状態の改善のために有用な知見になることが期待される。
