Outline of Research at the Start

We study stellar mass black holes who absorb gas from a neighboring star, and the part of the attracted matter that is expelled before reaching the black hole, called "disk winds". To investigate the properties of these winds, we use the new Japanese satellite XRISM, unrivaled for decomposing light in the X-rays, to observe how winds absorb specific colors of the X-ray light emitted close to the black hole. To test one of the main physical scenarios, where winds are launched by magnetic fields, we compare XRISM data to a model developed by the JSPS fellow and his previous French institution.
