本研究では，児童期の虐待やネグレクトと認められそうな場面を，言葉ではなくイメージ（イラスト）で示して，場面ごとの評価を得て尺度を開発する。イラストの中には，登場人物の性別を4通り分けて示すことで，場面によるジェンダーの差についても査定することができる。この研究により児童期の養育に関する国際比較や，今後の改善点などを検討していくことができると考えている。
