葉緑体光定位運動とは、葉緑体が光環境に従って細胞内で常に位置を変える現象のことを指し、植物特有な青色光受容体であるフォトトロピンによって制御される。弱光下では光合成効率を上げるために葉緑体は光に向かって集合し（集合反応）、強光下では光傷害を避けるために葉緑体は光から逃避する（逃避反応）。近年、紫外線UV-B照射によって集合反応が誘導されることが報告された。本研究では、これまで不明であったUV-B誘導性集合反応の分子機構並びに生理学的意義の解明に努める。
