この研究では、1980年に盛り上がりをみせた指紋押捺拒否運動を題材に、運動に参加した多様なアクターに着目し、ローカルとグローバルの両面から運動の全体像を検討する。市民グループが発行した会報やビラ、運動関係者のインタビューなどから、運動の意義と残された課題を分析し、1980年代の社会運動の特徴を解明する。1980年代の運動スタイルを明らかにすることで、70年代と90年代の社会運動との連続性と非連続性を考察していく。
