| Outline of Research at the Start |
高山植物は近年の気候変動やシカの食害などで急速に数を減らしつつある。このような背景から、日本では植物園が主体となって生育域外保全に取り組み、種の保全と野生条件下への復帰を目標に栽培を行っている。しかし高山植物を低地で栽培するには、高度な技術と費用を要する。これらの問題を踏まえて、本研究では植物が生産するストレス応答物質の質的・量的変化に着目することで、保全植物の受けるストレスを定量的に評価し、希少植物の保全に向けた新たな技術の確立を目指す。
