Outline of Research at the Start |
This research is mainly about the mitigation of nitrous oxide emission in a sulfur autotrophic denitrification process. As the strong greenhouse gas N2O emission from the denitrification process increased in recent years, sulfur autotrophic denitrification which is coupled sulfur and nitrogen cycles could reduce N2O emission, compared with traditional denitrification processes. However, the mechanisms of N2O mitigation are still unclear. Hence, it is necessary and challenging to explore the synergistic effect and mechanism of sulfur oxidation and nitrogen reduction driven by microorganisms.
