サルモネラ属菌は、代表的な感染型食中毒ならびに人獣共通感染症の主要な原因細菌の一つです。近年、Salmonella Schwarzengrundがサルモネラ感染患者から検出される頻度が高まっており、公衆衛生上重要な血清型であることからその疫学的解析が急務となっています。したがって、サルモネラ属菌に菌株型別能力が最も高いされている手法を応用する研究の一環として、S. Schwarzengrundを対象に、市販食品における汚染状況の調査を行い、分離菌株間の遺伝的関連性や起源ならびに病原性の違いについて明らかにする。
