分子間相互作用は凝縮系や分子集合体の性質を特徴づけるものの１つである．分子間ポテンシャルを明らかにするために，本研究では理論・実験両面からの包括的アプローチを試みる．新規の理論モデルポテンシャルを定式化しスーパーコンピュータを利用した大規模な量子化学計算と組み合わせた解析を行う．その一方で大きく異なる先端的なレーザー分光法を相補的に活用し，ベンゼン‐メタン分子錯体の分子間振動のエネルギー準位構造を実験的に明らかにする．
