Outline of Research at the Start

人は、他者の顔を見ると、そこにあらわれる表情を無意識に、かつ、瞬時に真似している。この現象は表情模倣と呼ばれ、他者の感情を知覚し、共感することと密に関わっている。表情模倣を理解することは、感情コミュニケーション、ひいては社会性の理解に不可欠である。異文化間交流に関しては、言語的な側面の違いは情報技術の発展によって克服されつつあるが、非言語的側面の文化差は現象把握すら不十分である。本研究は、非言語的な感情コミュニケーションの中枢にある表情模倣の文化差を解明し、異文化間交流の質の向上への貢献を目指す。
