Outline of Research at the Start	考古学研究において遺跡の年代推定は、考古資料を歴史学的背景に位置づけるための基礎的作業として、重要な研究課題とされている。本研究の目的は、日本列島各地における古代の遺跡において、年輪年代測定に基づいた高精度な年代体系を構築することである。ヒノキ科の木質遺物を対象として各地で年輪年代測定を行い、得られた年輪年代を遺跡や遺構ごとに集成する。さらに、土器や瓦の相対編年との比較検証を繰り返すことにより、地域ごとに独立した根拠に基づいた高精度年代体系を構築する。
