Outline of Research at the Start	基課題では国内の常緑針葉樹林を対象に、個葉-地域スケール横断的な分光観測によるフェノロジー観測、植物生理生態学的に基づく決定メカニズム解明、CO2吸収機能との関係解明研究を実施してきた。本課題では、フィンランド環境研究所のBottcher博士との共同研究を通じて北極圏を含むフィンランドの常緑針葉樹林を研究対象に加え、広い環境・緯度勾配と常緑針葉樹林フェノロジーの関係解明を実現する。そして地域ごとの観測手法の確立、気候変動に脆弱な高緯度地域の将来予測に必要な知見の提供、さらには常緑針葉樹林のフェノロジーの衛星観測データの必須生物多様性変数（EBVs）としての応用の実現を目指す。
