Outline of Research at the Start	中世写本の物質的側面に関し豊富な知識を有する海外研究者との共同研究を通して、基課題で進めてきたピーター・イドリー作『息子への教え』現存写本の多角的分析を深化させ、15世紀イングランドのノーフォーク地域の都市や町を生活拠点とする中流の社会階層の人々の間で育まれた写本文化へと考察対象を拡げる。さらに、1476年から16世紀前半における印刷本の普及と道徳やキリスト教信仰上の基本的教義の学習を目的とする読書傾向の変容という新たな視点を踏まえて、同時期に専ら写本を通して流布した『息子への教え』の伝播の特質を浮き彫りにする。
